If you haven’t been to one of our Latin Dance Nights in the spiegeltent here at Teatro ZinZanni, then you need to get down to Lower Queen Anne Tuesday, March 9 for Orchestra Zarabanda’s return.
On the second* Tuesday of every month, Teatro ZinZanni’s magical tent returns to its roots as a dance hall, playing host to some of the Northwest’s hottest Latin dance bands including Tumbao, Conjunto Chevere and Orchestra Zarabanda. Each month, we feature special performances by local dance troupes, instructors and occasionally performers from our regular show.
March 2010 will feature the return of Orchestra Zarabanda who played a four-month run here in the summer and fall of 2009. The Seattle Weekly recently called them “…a retro ballroom outfit that will ship you straight to the Havana of your imagination.”
Also joining us on the 9th is aerialist Terry Crane, making his spiegeltent debut. Terry is an expert on the vertical rope and has toured the world performing at festivals, on television and for royalty.
* June’s Latin Dance will happen the first Tuesday, 6/1/2010.
